So hard to say Good Bye
Well the big news of this week is I've been transferred. I'm in barrio
2, the other side of Madrid. I cannot even believe it. Hermana
Rossberg received a phone call Thursday telling her she would be
training, so we were suspicious that I would leave the area, but were
crossing our fingers we would be a trio. Well Saturday morning
President called me and and asked if I was willing to go and do all
the Lord wants of me. He apologized that I will only have one transfer
in B- nine but then said the Lord needs me in the center zone to serve
as Sister Training Leader with Hermana Barkle. Which means me and my
companion have the responsibility to do exchanges with all the other
Hermanas in the zone, we have the opportunity to go to leadership
council with the zone leaders, aps, and president, and we teach with
the zone leaders at zone conference. I'm really excited for my new
calling and the opportunity I have to serve other missionaries in my
zone. My new companion is also really cute, she is from Australia. And
she is a machine. Such a good missionary. I' m sad to leave barrio 9
but I know that there was a reason I served there this past transfer,
and there is a reason I'm here right now.
So this week was really good. One miracle that happened is my first
night in b9 we were with the elders and this family passed us, and I
felt impressed to talk to them, so I basically chased the mom down. We
got her info, but later lost contact with her. Well the other day we
were leaving an appointment from this family we are teaching and this
lady stopped me, and asked if we could pass by Monday night. So we
passed by and taught the most powerful lesson 1 we had ever taught
together. Then at the end we asked if we could meet again, and the
lady said "¿ya tienes mi numero verdad?" (You already have my number
right?) and it turns out she was the one I contacted that first night.
It was such a powerful experience for me of the importance of
following the spirit, but more than anything else how everything is in
the timing of the Lord.
The next cool experience this week was that we had the opportunity to
go to a sealing of a family we've been teaching. Their son is still not a
member (we're working on that) and the daughter just got baptized a
few months ago. It was probably one of the most special experiences
I've had on my mission. It really put into perspective for me that
this is the goal! Baptism is just a step, but eternal families, that
is the goal. It was just a really memorable/beautiful experience.
Also while we were at the temple Saturday we snuck into the CCM again
to see the Lovells. And I saw an elder who is from Santa Cruz! He was
the bishops son, so I asked him about all my converts, and he told me
that Miguel and Pablo just received the Melchizedek priesthood. Miguel
is in the young men's presidency. Pablo is secretary in the elders
quorum. And Susana is the 1st counselor in the relief society. I'm so
happy. It just brought tears to my eyes that they are all doing so
well in the gospel.
Os quiero y que tengáis una buena semana!
