Now, first I would like to share some things I've pondered this
Christmas season. Serving a mission during Christmas is life-changing.
People listen to us just a little bit more, their hearts are softened,
and everyone grows just a little bit closer remembering the birth of
our savior. We met with a less-active this week from Bolivia when I
was on exchanges with Hermana Harper, and when we asked her favorite
part about this time of the year, with tears in her eyes she said "it
is the only time I feel close to my family, we reach out to call each
other, and feel each other's love" this is the enabling power of
Christ bringing families together like this. Unlike this Hermana, I'm
grateful this has not been my experience. And I know I'm in your debt
because of that. I'm so grateful that in our home, Christ was not only
just remembered for one month of the year, but the whole year. That I
could always feel his love in our home from you guys. That I always
knew remembering him was important, and I know that having a Christ
centered home is what has made the difference in our family. It's sad,
but one thing that has been brought to my attention in the mission is
that families like ours, strong , faithful families, are the exception
and not the norm. I know that our family is not perfect, I know that
raising me in particular was not very easy.. The good majority of the
time. But I also know it's because of what you guys did for me, your
love, and your patience, I am where I am today. I know that we have
had success in our family because you guys strive to make Christ the
center of our family. I know that he is the light in this world, and
he is the only way to find happiness, and our family is a testament of
that. I know that he lives, he loves us, and has been with us though
all our trials supporting us, and I know that you both already know
this, but I just wanted you to know that I know it too. I love you,
and am so grateful for you. You are my rocks. Have a great end of
holidays, but don't have too much fun without me :)
Love you, kallie
