Hi family!!
Welll I don't have loads of time this week. BUT we've had some very
cool experiences. So I want share a couple of the highlights of my
week.
1) we were on the radio!!! Last week we contacted someone in the
street who is a radio talk host for a radio that is played in all the
buses and taxi in all of Galicia. So we talked a little bit and he is
from Uruguay and actually lived right by an LDS church there and had
been to a few activities growing up, so he has a really good opinion
of the church. Well he invited us to his radio. So we thought, well
cool! He'll probably give us like 3 minutes of time to speak! But we
went and he gave us a 20 minute interview with about 4 other spaniards
so were there listening and asking us questions. It was the best
experience. We were able to clarify who we are and a lot of
misconceptions people have about the church. We talked about the
importance of genealogy and families, the Book of Mormon, some of the
differences between the Catholic Church and ours. Three of the people
want to now learn more about the church. It's been awesome.
2) Pedro is doing so good! He is our Columbian friend who has a
baptism date in a couple weeks! He is just changing his life left and
right. He was such a miracle. So he came to the general conference and
this week he asked us if there was a different session of church like
last time (because a few of us friends were running in a big marathon
here), we explained to him no and he said "well my friends will just
need to wait" and he came to church. He is also trying to prepare his
family so we can teach them as well. Also he prayed for the first time
without the guide in the back of the pamphlet and at the end he just
cried at the end tears of joy because he felt the spirit so strong.
3) our friend Ricardo (from Spain) that we found a couple of weeks ago
is also progressing well. He has a testimony of everything! He just
neeeeds to stop smoking. This week we prayed with him, and made a very
detailed plan based on the atonement of Jesus Christ. At the end he
felt really good about and he told us that he has more faith than ever
before in himself to stop smoking.
4) our friend from Brazil made me the promise that he will finish the
Book of Mormon before I leave! Yay! He is knows that the gospel is
true and feels the spirit when he is with us.. It's just a matter of
commitment and guilt I think.. But he said he could see himself
baptized in a couple months so I guess that's cool.
Well let me just tell you how much I love Vigo! The north of Spain is
supposedly supposed to be harder, but our work pool has grown so much
we have almost more work than we can hardly handle. We are receiving
so many blessings and miracles. It just shows me that God really is in
charge of his work. How lucky are we that we only need to put our
faith in him and he does the rest.
