So this week again went by way to fast!
First, it´s official! I´M OUT OF TRAINING! waaahoooo! I´m so excited, to be honest I feel like I´ve been out of training since Hna Reyes left, but now it´s official, and I´m so excited because now we have another hour to work in the mornings! And we need it.. there is always so much to do and never enough time.
But this week was good. We had a lot of really good lessons, and have found a couple more solid investigators so I´m excited! The mission is so much more fun when the finding turns into teaching.
The highlight of my week was definitely the mission tour though. Boy oh boy it was amazing. I heard the Dykes speak in the CCM but it was even more meaningful now that I´m in the field.
So we flew there saturday. The Canary Islands used to be their own mission, and all the missionaries from Tenerefe stayed in the old mission home. It is soooo legit! It´s huge!! That night the Senior couple--elder and sister larsen-- made us homemade chicken noodle soup, rolls, and brownies. We were all in heaven. And the mission home had carpet! No where in Spain has carpet!! I just about died of happiness. It´s funny the things you learn to appreciate when you aren´t home.
Then the conference was Saturday. It was so good. It was kind of weird, because it was in English, but I learned so much, but the thing I think I liked the most was in the talk Sister Dykes gave. She talked about her conversion story and how they had a motto in their mission (When they were mission presidents in Oregon) was
"to do the hard thing". It´s obvious how this saying could apply to missionary work, but she also talked to us about it from the stand point of an investigator. For a lot of people the gospel is a hard thing. It brings people happiness and blessings, but to receive the happiness and the blessings first we need to exercise faith and work had to obey all the commandments God has given us. For some people this signifies complete life-style changes, and it´s hard. God expects a lot from us. How else are we going to learn, grow, and become like him? And sometimes I don´t have enough Faith in people, because it´s hard to find people who actually desire to make these changes in their lives. BUT Hermana Dykes talked about how there are people out there who God has prepared, who are ready and who want to do the hard thing. and this was a really good reminder for me.
But anyways the conference was a lot of fun, and I was so excited to get back to work after!
Anyways love you all and have the best week!
