Hiiiii Everybody!
This week has just flown. Luckily we have these bomb elders here who
keep us pretty entertained. For example we had English class on
Saturday and we were drawing these pictures of people skydiving and
all that good stuff. Cool right? Yeah so we only had one person there
to teach and we felt kind of bad so Elder Gearig decided to go find
some random person from the street, and we didn't believe him. Sure
enough, five minutes later he brings in a random person from the
street and we just died! Then the guy started taking pictures for us
then left, but it was still funny. All the Elders were sick this week
as well so we had to kick in our motherly instinct and tell them what
to do because they're too darn stubborn. Men....psh.
So Hermana Jensen and I have been teaching this woman Margarita. She
is a sweetheart! So we visited her a few days ago and the lesson was
amazing! It went perfectly and the spirit was so strong! At the end of
the lesson she kind of went a different direction though... She told
us that she does not want to leave her catholic beliefs at all ☹️ it
felt like we got punched in the heart. We love this lady so much and
she totally loves us as well but it just sucked because she told us
she knows that this church is true! I don't understand people! But
we'll keep praying hard for her and I trust that it'll all work out in
the end. That's how God works after All! In mysterious ways
So now the story behind my subject line. Buckle up, we're going for a ride!
So we were at the house of an investigator but we didn't have a woman
with us so we were standing outside the door talking to him. We start
smelling smoke from inside and he goes running back inside. He locked
himself out of the kitchen! He was cooking something on an open flame
and it caught on fire! So he starts trying to break the door down,
neighbors are coming out yelling at us so we tried explaining what was
happening, and he's in there just throwing himself against this poor
door! I offered him a credit card to use to try to slip the lock open
and he declined. So there's smoke all over the place and people
yelling and stuff and we're freaking out BC this building is about to
go up in flames like Sodom and Gomorroh. Just don't look back Lots
Wife. So I offer him my card again and so he takes it and tries and
guess what? It opened. Boom, bang, bam! Like a boss. Moral of the
story; well I can't really think of one so basically just don't close
the kitchen door. Better yet, don't have a door to the kitchen!
Definitely something I'll remember though so I'm grateful it happened
and nobody got hurt
I've been ponderizing a scripture this week in Alma 26, verse 12. Yea,
I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I
will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his
strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we
have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.
It's pretty simple as to what we need to do. This can be applied in
every single persons life, especially in that of a missionary! We rely
on the Spirit in every single moment to help guide us and give us the
strength we need, and when we have success.. It's us being worthy
instruments in the hands of God to touch the hearts of the people.
It's His work, so it's also His success. We have nothing to boast of
about ourselves, but every reason to boast of our loving Heavenly
Father!
Hope that all is well back home or wherever you're reading this from
and my prayers are sent your way! Love you all️
