Well in the last 4 days lots and lots have changed let me tell ya.. una broma. So our Christmas dinner was the best! Burger King! How many of you can say that you had your Christmas Dinner at burger king? that´s what I thought. Except me and Hermana Reyes were still so sick from everything we ate the night before, so we just split a slad. Pathetic right? No but it was fun! We went with the Elders and a less active man in the ward who is really really awesome. We ended up having a good night.
The next day was way cool! No one wanted to meet with us (since it´s still the holidays) so we were just contacting allll day, and normally when we contact most people do not want to give us the time of day, but everyone we talked to Friday we had really good conversations with and we taught a lot of lessons in the street! Heavenly Father was blessing us extra :) One man we met, his name is Saliman, was from Sierra Leon Africa. So his nativie language is English! YAY. He´s very religous. He´s Muslim, but studies the bible as well, because he believes all good things come from God. He lives here alone, his wife and children are still in Africa and he can´t fly over to see them, because of the viras which is really sad. We talked with him for a couple hours and gave him the first lesson (which was kinda weird doing in english, it felt awkward) and after he told us that we were the first missionaries he has ever let talk to him, and he doesn´t know why but he felt like we were spreading a message of god. Ahh I´m so pumped! We are going to try and meet with him again, but he lives on the border if our area and La Laguna, so if he´s in the other area we´ll have to give him over to the missionaries there. We´ll see.
So aquí they are still singing Christmas songs in all our meetings.. The 6th is Reyes day and that´s when they give all their gifts. Ahh I´m pretty tired of Christmas music.. not gonna lie. But I´m even more tired of people not being able to meet because of the holidays.. ugh la lucha real. But anyways all is well! Love and miss you guys and it was so good talking to you on Christmas. oh and por favor tell my siblings that if they love me they will start emailing me. Gracias.
Much Love, Hna Staker
