Hey family!
Well this week has been long, crazy, fun, amazing, just about every
emotion that you can think up in your head, I have felt this week!
So we got into the area Tuesday night.. We arrived to a messy piso,
and to a not, explaining to us that we have basically no investigators
so good luck!
We are in a HUGE area and we have to take the bus and metro for
everything. But.. Me and my companion both know nothing about buses
and metros.. We have been on a few adventures, gotten a little lost,
accidentally left our area, but I think we've finally got it down!
We got to go the byu game. Should I say more? The Spain Madrid mission
is definitely the coolest. After the game we fit about 200 people
(missionaries and investigators) into a tiny public bus.. I thought I
was going to die. It was crazy.
We went to a wedding of a couple who's family were just sealed in our
ward. It was precious. They're from Ecuador. I'm in love with Latin
culture, everything about it.
We have been going crazy meeting with members, organizing our area
books, and contacting in the streets to try to find investigators. And
it 3 days we found 8 new contacts.. I've never seen the hand of the lord as
much as I have this week in my mission. We are just preparing
ourselves for the miracles this transfer!
Last night for example, we were passing by the apartment of an old
investigator from the area book, and they didn't live there anymore.
From luck we were able to get into the apartment complex though and
knock doors. We knocked every single door for about 4 floors (
probably 15-20 doors) and we saw just about everything from old men
with out shirts, to people slamming the doors in our faces, but no
yes. We get to the 5th floor knocked on this door and a 18 year girl
from Peru answers. She told us she was atheist, but with a little
persistence she let us in. We taught her a lesson about the nature of
God and how he is our father who loves us. I felt the spirit so strong
during that lesson. We are going back this Wednesday to teach her
more. We found this girl at the end of the night when it was almost
time to go in. We very well could have given up sooner and left to
make our way home, but I know the lord always blesses us when we show
him our love by putting in that extra effort to find his children who
he is preparing to hear the gospel. I love being a missionary here in
Spain! I love being a disciple of Christ and caring his name on my
name tag. I know this is the work of the lord and I know I'm so lucky
to be a part of it. Thank you for all the love prayers and support!
Have a good week.
