Hi family!
Where to begin..
Well this week has been really good! We had the leadership council meetings
Tuesday. I love being around president and Hermana pack. They are so
inspiring and I know they are without a doubt called of God.
I also had to get a new recommend for the temple this week, because of
my stolen wallet and had the opportunity to sustain all of our church
leaders again, and when I did I felt the spirit confirming so strongly
that they are called of God.
In response to the new guidelines to homosexual marriages and their
children I would like everyone to know how much I support and sustain
the decision of our leaders. We know that the first and second
commandments that God has given us are to love our God and later to love
our fellow men. It's so important that we love and treat all persons
with respect. It is not important their beliefs, where they come from,
or who they are, we love them. But the first great commandment is to
love our God, we know from the New Testament that when we love our God
we keep his commandments and we know that the prophets reveal the will
and commandments of God. Even though we don't always understand why,
we show are love though our obedience and willingness to sustain them.
It has been made very clear that when acted upon, homosexuality is a
very big sin. It will always be a sin in the eyes in the lord, and
something we should not defend. We love them as people and as sons
and daughters of God, but the sin no. As for their families, this is
probably one of the biggest acts of love that church leaders have
taken. Baptism is a covenant with the most important and powerful
being on earth. Our father in heaven. When children are living in a
homosexual household it is impossible to keep the precious covenants
of baptism. It just can't be done, and the lord understands with his
infinite love that it would be better for these children to wait.
In my last area we were teaching a 11 year girl who loved everything
to do with the gospel, and had so much knowledge of what we were teaching
her. She wanted to be baptized so badly, but we just couldn't do it,
because her family wasn't living the gospel in her home, and she had
no means of getting to church. If we baptized her, it would have been
baptizing right a way a less active member. But I know if she still
keeps learning and living the gospel one day when she is more
self-reliant she will be baptized, or even better she will change and
influence her family's life because of her wonderful example.
I know that this change in the manual is inspired. It will help
strengthen the church, the people who struggle with this temptation
and their families. I know that we have a Heavenly Father that knows
what he is doing and that the leaders are his mouth piece on the earth
today, I also know that this life is our time of trial. Temptation and
difficulties are present and should be expected. But it is a perfect
plan and we have a perfect savior who died for everyone of us so we
can all overcome the hardships of this life. Me and my companion
always talk about how the real life hasn't even started yet. That this
life really is so short in the plan of God, but so important, because
this life determines how are real lives will be in the world to come.
We need to show him how much we love him to receive all that he has
waiting for us, and we do this by our obedience and our diligence in
living his gospel.
So also a little miracle for the week. We've been trying to meet with a
boy of a member family forever! His parents are members but he has never
wanted to baptized. Well, we saw his dad in the street and we were like
"is Wilder at home?!" And his dad was like yeah, he's there sleeping!
So we run to his house wake him up, teach him the restoration, and
he's now getting baptized in a month! His mom was crying, because they have been members for 2 years and want to be sealed as a family.
And finally, me and HNA Barkle are staying here together for another transfer!
Love you guys so much and have the best week!
