Hola!!! So you guys would be amazed. So not this past Sunday, but the
Sunday before (I forgot to tell you) I spoke in church, and that´s not even the best part. It was in ESPANOL! wooohoo. SO every SUnday they call up a few random missionaries to speak in the language they´re learning. That morning I just knew I was gonna get called. I was freaking out, like sooo nervous. and sure enough, I did!! ha but it went well! The topic was la expiacion (look it up:) and it went relaly well. And just wait there is more. THis SUnday I´m singing with my district in sacrament meetiong. like what is life? i don´t sing. ha and the best part is i´m singing the elder´s part because the hermana´s is way too high for me! the 8 of us are singing oh holy night, and i´m actually way excitied about it. where did this kallie come from right? anyways this past p-day we went to the prado. for those of you who don´t know what that is, it´s a famous catholic art museum here in madrid. it was incredable. most the paintings are really dark and the people depicted are very exposed (which is slightly ironic for a group of missionaries, ha some of the elders were freaking out) but it was beautiful, and i loved it! across the street there was also this waygnarly sword shop! I loved it! we spent a goood chunk of time there. oh i´m getting better at futball. I´ll be basicallt pro by the time i get home, so watch out! AND HAPPY THAANKSGIVINNG EVERYBODY! I hope you guys have tons of fun for me :) I´m actually way pumped for today though. Hermana Lovell is going all out, so it should be food. It was also really cool starting out this thanksgiving day with the temple, and i had a really meaningful experiance. I was in the celestial room praying and before i closed my paryer I just stopped and listend to the spiri, and I kid you not i heard heavenly father´s response to me as clear as day in what i would think to be his voice. it was crazy, amazing, and everything else. It was so clear att first, i thought the whole room heard, but i looked up and it was just to me, in my mind. llike i wish i had the gift of writing well so i could just describe this more clearly to you, but just know god is real, he loves us, and answers our prayers. (sometimes more clearly and directly than others) When I finished my parayer today the tears were definitely streaming, and I know with all my heart that i have a father in heaven who loves me and has been by my side every step of the way through this whole experiance. Anyways I love you all (even you ash, but next week you better write me!) I´m so grateful for all the emails, and support. Mail is really like gold here. Have the best week, and I´ll hear from you all soon!! -hermana So again, not very much time. But I love you all!!!!!! a few
highlights this past week, WE WENT THE REAL MADRID STADIUM?! so sick right? they do way legit tours, so we got to go in the locker room, and on the fiield, and see just everything. After the tour I´ve been playing soccer everyday for sports cause it´s inspired me to get wayyy good!! It´s so fun. and we always have a bunch of locals play with us. Everyone breathes soccer here, so I feel pretty inadequat but it´s way fun and I´m getting better everyday! Spanish. Still so hard but It´s amazing how the spirit helps you testify in it when you are teaching. But the best thing ever! This week I ran into ENnglish Speakers at the park! Hallelujah!!!! And I gave them all Book of Mormons, It´s amazing how much more convincing I am in English :) I still love the CCM, like I will be SO sad to leave, I still have the best distict. We make everything so fun, I´m pretty every other district is jealous of us. I still love my teachers, and I am learning so much from them, but most of all I have learning so much about myself from the spirit. It´s amazing how much it can teach you and lead you. I love my Father in Heaven. Missionary work is hard, but Heavenly Father shows me he loves me everyday without fail, even in the smallest of ways, and I know what I´m doing, testifying of, and working for is all right. Again, I love you all so much. -Hermana Staker The most stressful part of the CMM is emailing. Not enough time to
email everything you want to say to the people you love! But HOLA FAMILIA! Another week down. Being a missionary is awesome. I literally see the lord work mircales in my life everyday. Yes mom, my companion is carly blatter´s (lynn blatter´s daughter) cousin, and jake wrights cousin. She is also the one i had cafe rio with when we met at the consul. she´s way cool, way better at spanish than i am, and full of one liners. we get along so good though. My district is the nefi distict (i can´t remember if i told you that last week?) but they are legit. we are probably the tightest district here at the ccm no joke. we all love each other so much, and do practically everything together. Today we even all wore blue for ´´family pics´´ after our temple sesh. There are 46 missionaries here in all, 22 elders and 24 hermanas. so basically even though nefi is the best, everyone knows everyone, and we have all gotten so close. A couple cool experiances this week was numero uno, when we went to the park (we get a park compaion that varies everytime we go) i was paired with hermana lopez. she´s from hawaii and is going to russia. It was her last time going to the park before leaving for the field so i was way pumped i got to be paired with her! She had been here 8 weeks or so. Well we gave away this book of mormon to a girl who seemed way solid, and as we were leaving hermana lopez was crying, and she loooked at me and said ´´this is the first book of momorn i´ve given away and i´ve been praying and praying for this oppertunity´´ and i just bawled. I´ve had a lot of success on our park trips and i think sometimes i took my successes in shharing the gospel for granted. LIterally I was so blessed to hermana lopez, she not only humbled me, but just made me realize how grateful i am for every experiance heavenly father has given me to share his gospel. It´s justs been amazing. Another cool story. so one of my teacher´s, hermana natario, told me and my companera that everytime we taught the first lesson if the spirit was strong enough, satan would find some way to distact from it. like a phone call, baby-cry,etc. So the next day we were teaching one of our investigators, Leticia, and we had just shared the first vision. Literally the spirit was raging. Then I started to bear my testimony of Joseph smith and our investigators phone started ringing. we later found out that the phone call was by an unkown number and when Leticia (really one of our teachers acting) tried to call back there was no answer. SOOOO COOOOL. Anyways. I´m getting short on time but I LOVE YOU ALL! -Hermana Staker (fun fact, they pronounce my name stalker here.. sooo yeah. fun joke) Well after however long I finally get a P-day!! I´m so pumped and I
feel like I have so much to tell you in so little time. I guess I´ll start with my flight. Well it was basically the worst. So I met up with about 12 other missionaries (who are all way chill) but the flight to paris was soooooooo long and it literally felt like a refrigerator on the plane. I was shaking so dang bad that I got zero sleep. Luckily we got to the CCM at around 8 so we could go to bed right away.. I don´t think I had ever slept better in my entire life! Oh but one perk of the trip was that I crossed off my bucket-list goal of eating a macaroon in Paris! So Hoooray for that! <So the computers here won´t enter so sorry this is all in one big glub> Anyways.. Jet Lag is a real thing guys! For the first few days I was exhausted and even though everything was so awesome, I had to fight so hard to stay awake. I´m so so grateful that´s al over. So life here at the CCM is way chill. LOTS of studying but lots of fun. The food is dlecious. I´ve mentally prepared myself for the weight gain.. But there are literally homade pastries and desserts every meal, and they are so darn good. Dad to answer your quesion about working out, we do not have a set apart work-out time, but we have sports every single day (so we can pick ultimate frisbee, soccer, volleyb all, etc) and it´s way fun! It´s also a much need brake for our brains. We go to the temple of P-day so today was my second time going through. The temple is breath taking, and I feel closer to the family there than I do anywhere else. We do service at the temple every Friday which is cool, and my favorite part is going to the Park Saturdays! It´s amazing!! and I gave away my first BOM!!!! YAAAY. I still feel like I know literally no spanish, but it´s cool. Anyways I´m already out of time, but I LOVE YOU ALLL!!!! oh and my package came :) -hermana staker |
