Family!
I won't have a lot of time this week, but I just wanted to share somethings
I've learned. So Tuesday we had interviews with president (which is the
greatest), we went down to Alcobendas (area trunkie is a thing..) and
we were in the office white everyone and I was talking to Hermana
Larsen. She is part of the matrimony couple in alcobendas and one of
my favorite people on this planet. I was talking to her about how one
of my biggest shock moments about the mission was that like normal
life it can be really monotonous and repetitive and it is not just
this grand adventure of miracle seeing every moment (even though there
is some of that as well), most days you really have to search for the
beautiful things, and the Lord's hand in your life, and learn how to
appreciate life and the mission how it has been given to you. So
Hermana Larsen gave me a talk to read that describes how I have felt
perfectly, but puts it into words more beautifully and gives a really
profound yet simple perspective of life and what is important, and you
should all read it. It's called "Grounded, Rooted, Established, and
Settled" by Neal A. Maxwell.
Other cool things this week..
The crazy boys Wilder (investigator) and Rick (less active) are doing
great and coming to church! We have sacrificed some sleep (the elders
as well) to go play soccer with them in the mornings, buts the
sacrifice brings the blessings ;) this week on Saturday a bunch of the
YSA are going to play as well so they're even making friends. They are
great. Wilders parents are preparing to be sealed in the temple in
April so we are hoping and praying that Wilder can be baptized before
then to be sealed to them as well.
Other crazy story.. Our Romanian investigator proposed to me, but
literally.. (Brought out the ring and all) Haha mom what would think
if I moved to Romania ;) just kidding.. But one of the more funny
moments of my mission. He is so funny. He told me he was going to
become a missionary so he can take me out for a Coke.. I don't thing
he understands how the mission works. Oh well. We may just need to
pass another one to the elders, because him and his cousin are both
starting to progress a lot. We gave them Books of Mormon in Romanian
and they flipped. They told us they were going to read this book,
because it could have the power to change their lives and
they want to know if it's true.
The work is just going so great right now, we have some really solid
people that are really trying to find testimonies of the Book of
Mormon.
We gave a little girl we are teaching (her mom is less-active) a
baptism date for next month, and her mom is really starting to
prioritize things better in her life to support her daughter.
We also had a world-wide mission broadcast this week and almost all
the missions in the world were able to watch it live. We talked a lot
about teaching repentance and baptizing converts. It was really cool.
Everything they taught came from preach my gospel, so nothing new, but
a good reminder.
Well thanks so much! I've been in Alcobendas all day visiting people I
taught, so I won't have time to write much more but I love you all!
