If I could describe how I feel this week, I would describe it as being
spiritually fed and blessed. I'm grateful for the opportunities we
have as members in the church and missionaries of the lord to be
constantly given what we need to be spiritually strengthened and to
hasten the lord's work.
So Tuesday we had zone conference. I learned so many things.. Things
to apply in the mission and in life. What really stuck with me is
that my role of being a representative of Christ in every moment. How
the classic kindergarten question we often think is silly "what would
Jesus do" is something we should probably always ask. The messages
were awesome, and spending Monday and Tuesday with the Packs, even
more awesome.
We had another really amazing experience with one of the people we are
teaching (we found him last week). He is a young 23 year old from
Brazil, and he told us when we met him that he didn't really believe
in anything. While teaching him the plan of salvation something
clicked in his eye, and he just understood it. It was awesome. Well, he
texted us the next week wanting to meet.. So we were nervous. He told
us that he couldn't meet anymore because he feels guilty being with
us, because we are "so pure and closed to God". So we talked to him a
little bit about what was going on in his mind. Well he is almost done
with 2nd Nephi already. He said he can't stop thinking about the
things we are teaching him, and it's driving him crazy, he shared with
us his whole life story and expressed his fear of going to the lowest
kingdom. He told us that now before he makes a bad choice he stops for
a minute and thinks and feels guilt because he knows it's not right.
He expressed how he knows what we say is probably true, but he's
scared to receive an answer because of the responsibility it would
give him to commit to live it. We were in shock. Well long story
short.. He half way dropped us.. But then came to general conference,
and texted us after thanking us and that he felt the spirit really
strong, and he wants to meet again next week. WOW.
Also.. The new Columbian investigator we found last week? He is still
awesome! He still has his date and he loved general conference.
We are being so blessed right now. The work is growing so fast here in
Vigo! Me and Hermana Shriever are working so hard and I can't get over
the miracles we are seeing. God is hastening his work, and we are
being blessed to literally see this hastening before our eyes. I can't
express the things we are seeing and how I'm feeling. Something has
clicked. Even contacting in the street has been changing. We are
relying more and more on Heavenly Father, being continually humbled
and repenting, and people have been recognizing us as disciples of
Christ. Our investigators make comments, the people in the street give
us their numbers because they see we are special, and I just can't
believe the growth this area is seeing. I'm so grateful.
Finally I want to close with my testimony of the prophets and
apostles. I received a special witness this week that they really are
called of God. When they speak, it is as if the words were coming from
Heavenly Father's mouth. I know of the importance of heeding to every
council we receive from church leaders. They receive the revelation
that changes our life's for the better and that makes us happy. I want
to be the type of follower that heeds to all of it.
Love you all so very much!
